(LR) DunbarPreservationAction (DPA) inform ethnic heritage about the Paul Laurence Dunbar School Neighborhood Historic District and the value of education as means to an end.  (LR) (DPA) advocates about the Paul Laurence Dunbar School Neighborhood Historic District in preserving both cultural and architectural heritage as well community values and traditions.


(LR) DunbarPreservationAction supports cultural preservation of the Paul Laurence Dunbar School Neighborhood Historic District and African American heritage and cultural identity as exemplified by the Paul Laurence Dunbar School Neighborhood Historic District, a National Register of Historic Places nomination (September 2013). 


The "District" an iconic representation of a people, depth and breadth of cultural traits of a place, the historic Dunbar School neighborhood as Negro students walked miles to and fro daily entering into the Paul Laurence Dunbar School education gateway (1929 -1969).   

 

Historically architectural styles are readily visible throughout the historic Dunbar School neighborhoods and of the beloved Paul Laurence Dunbar School.  The "District" boundaries are drawn upon proximity of African American properties bearing historical significance and an aggregate of 51%.
